Paul Dué Selected Again By His Peers as One of the Best Lawyers In America

Paul H. Dué was recently selected by his peers for the thirteenth straight year for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2008, this year in the fields of Personal Injury Litigation and Products Liability. The 2008 edition is the fourteenth edition of The Best Lawyers in America. Since its inception in 1983, Best Lawyers has become universally regarded as the definitive guide to legal excellence in the United States. Because Best Lawyers is based on an exhaustive peer-review survey in which 24,000 leading attorneys throughout the country cast almost two million votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in their specialties, and because lawyers are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be listed, inclusion in Best Lawyers is considered a singular honor.

Paul Dué and Donald Price recognized as Louisiana Super Lawyers

Paul H. Dué and Donald W. Price were recognized as Louisiana Super Lawyers in the field of plaintiffs’ personal injury by Louisiana Super Lawyers magazine. Super Lawyers is published by Law & Politics magazine in numerous states, and it lists attorneys in private practice, prosecutors, in-house counsel and public service. The objective of the Super Lawyers selection process is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource to assist attorneys and sophisticated consumers in the search for legal counsel. Attorneys are chosen for inclusion by a peer polling, research, and selection process that identifies the top five percent of lawyers in each state.

Paul Dué, Kirk Guidry and Scott Andrews settle fuel tank shielding case against DaimlerChrysler Corporation

In December 2006, Paul Dué, Kirk Guidry and Scott Andrews perfected a settlement with DaimlerChrysler Corporation arising out of a post-collision fuel fed fire that occurred following an accident on August 6, 2002. Five passengers were severely burned and two of them died from their burn injuries after their 2000 Chrysler/Plymouth Grand Voyager mini van (NS body 1996-2000) climbed upon and straddled a metal guard rail. An I-beam supporting the guard rail sliced the mini van’s unprotected high density polyethylene fuel tank which was located forward of the rear axle. The firm asserted a product liability action under the Louisiana Products Liability Act, La. La.R.S. 9:2800.51, et seq., against DaimlerChrysler Corporation alleging that the numerous skid plates, metal shields and other protective devices used on many all wheel drive vehicles and most SUVs are designed to prevent puncture from guard rails, road debris, curbs, sign posts, etc., and were capable of preventing the plaintiffs' injuries, and therefore should have been incorporated into the design of the mini van's fuel system. The firm continues to pursue claims against the State of Louisiana, DOTD, for the unreasonably dangerous condition of the guardrail at the time of the accident.
